Julian Acero Covarrubias

Julian Acero Covarrubias was born in the Santa Cruz de las Huertas of Jalisco in the late 19th century. Contemporaries of Acero were Candelario Medrano and Natividad Hernández widow of Ortega, better known as the grandmother (La Abuela). They all worked in "Barro Betus". His work was included in the Rockefeller Collection, who acquired his pieces around 1947-50. Acero taught his nephew Domingo Acero who carries on the technique.
