Jose Juan Garcia Aguilar (b.1974) is one of the sons of Josefina Aguilar, who taught him the craft of clay pottery at the age of 8. He considers his mother as his inspiration for his works and has continued honing his skills ever since he sold his first successful piece when he was 9 years old. He believes clay possesses a soul and has a connection to memory and cultural history, just like humans.
