Enrique Gottdiener Soto (1909-1986), is a sculptor who originates from Merida, Yucatan, but spent time in Europe at a young age to develop his art by apprenticing as a carver to Austrian sculptor, Kurt Beckman. Most of his sculptural works represented the Mayans.
