Eduardo Cataño (1910-1964) was a Mexican painter who worked for the Galas de México printing establishment, illustrating calendars and advertisements. He was the son of Jesús Cataño Flores, a photographer from Tepic, and Flora Wilhelmy del Real, the daughter of a German sailor who settled in Sinaloa. Eduardo had shown a talent for painting at an early age. When he moved to Mexico City as a young man, he produced vignettes, covers and caricatures. During his early years at Galas de México, he designed the label for Corona beer around 1935, which is still used today. Eduardo was mostly known as one of the greatest artists in the genre of pin-up girls used in their calendars.
