Additional Information
The Maker
TANE Mexico is a company founded in 1942 by Parisian art collectors, Sergio and Natalia Leites, who fled and settled to Mexico City during World War II. After settling in Zona Rosa, the two opened a leather products boutique called "TANE," which derives from the french word, "tannerie." They began to work with the local goldsmiths to create details for their bags and accessories as a way to elevate their business, which eventually started the company's relationship with Mexico's silver. A lot of their work was inspired by its Mexican roots and Mexico's traditions in ancient craftsmanship. TANE still operates today.
