The Maker
Mario Martin del Campo is a Mexican visual artist born in Guadalajara in 1947. He has studied at the National School of Fine Arts of San Carlos, National Autonomous University of Mexico and held many exhibitions nationally and internationally. Although Campo studied formally, he still had this attachment to gold and refined materials and uses them in his crafted artworks. Campo has also designed sets, costumes, masks and puppets for the operas, Falstaff and Don Giovanni, when they were performed at the Palace of Fine Arts theater. Campo's work is classified in surrealism, which was influenced by the works of Remedios Varo and was able to exercise his visual narratives of sleep and consciousness.
